Digital health innovation and artificial intelligence in cardiovascular care: a case-based review

Abstract: This narrative review aims to equip clinicians with an understanding of how digital health innovations and artificial intelligence can be applied to clinical care pathways for cardiovascular prevention. We describe a case that highlights augmentative AI for the incidental detection of coronary artery calcium, a mobile application to improve patient adherence/engagement, large language models to enhance longitudinal patient communication and care, and limitations and strategies for the successful adoption of these technologies.
