Type: article
Abstract: Autonomous communities tend to develop their mutual cooperations especially between urban and rural area. Timber utilization can be a typical example of the cooperation. This paper conducted case studies of six autonomous communities that implement cooperation projects for timber utilization in different scale from municipal to national. As a result, it became clear that the autonomous communities adopted a form of cooperation in which strengths were utilized to compensate for weaknesses, depending on the spatial distance to the partner and the characteristics of the region.
