“Image of the author” – Maria Komornicka/Piotr Odmieniec Włast— in Xięga poezji idyllicznej [The Book of Idyllic Poetry]

Abstract: The article is an attempt to reconstruct the “image of the author” perceived as a cognitive category. It is based on the interpretation of Maria Komornicka's Xięga poezji idyllicznej, the last work of the modernist poet's life. The image of the speaking subject that emerges from the texts is undefined and ambiguous. It takes on a mask, shapes and processes, constantly waiting for a change. It assumes a confessional role and becomes a source of finding the identity of Maria Komornicka/Piotr Odmieniec Włast.
