A case of Clostridium difficile infection as a complication of antibiotic therapy

Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: This clinical case demonstrates the complexity of managing a comorbid patient with antibiotic-associated diarrhea. We observed a patient who, during therapy, developed extremely early premature birth with a live premature fetus (at 25-26 weeks), antibiotic-associated (Clostridium difficile) intractable diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis, and acute dynamic intestinal obstruction. After treatment for 14 days, the patient’s condition improved.
