Abstract: The Journal After Fifty Years Ours are times seemingly unpropitious for new ventures, especially so for a new journal of medicine and philosophy.A surfeit of scholarly publications, the nature of the field, and the pressure of fiscal constraints all portend an uncertain future.Yet, we deem the engagement of medicine and philosophy too promising, and too urgent, to be deterred by the mere exigencies of the times. …The editorial board hopes the Journal will become a scholarly forum for philosophers, physicians, humanists, and other scholars.
