Abstract: The connection between stress, emotional invalidation, and mental health as it relates to undergraduate science is reviewed. We propose a “Model for Emotional Intelligence in Biology Education Research” to advocate for the development of Emotional Intelligence interventions to promote emotional management among students and instructors.
