Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: The incidence of acute pancreatitis in the United States has been increasing for the last few years and hypertriglyceridemia is a common cause of acute pancreatitis. In this case report, we present an interesting case of a young patient with hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis. The patient had multiple causes for increased blood triglyceride levels, including recently started icosapent ethyl, metabolic syndrome, and possible familial chylomicronemia syndrome.
