Abstract: The article presents selected forms of material commemoration of the raid on Würzburg on March 16, 1945, and the efforts related to the subsequent reconstruction. Models, paintings, monuments, small architectural and sculptural forms, as well as the furnishings and decorations of churches preserve the memory of the event that changed the city and its form. This text is a sketch and at the same time an element of broader research conducted by the author on the forms of storing memory in cities destroyed during World War II.
