Abstract: Traditionally, assembly cells are supplied with materials manually by a logistics worker using a tugger train. The tasks include transporting, loading and unloading small load carriers. Alternatively, the supply can be fully automated. Three scenarios (manual with tugger train, automated with mobile cobot and automated with modified assembly cell structure) are tested in real life and compared in terms of effort, cost and efficiency and used to determine the efficient automated supply with rapid cost equalisation.
