The relevance of the study is determined by both the requirement of regulatory documents defining the rehabilitation process, and the necessity to establish an alliance with a client who needs restoration or correction of abilities for certain types of life activity. The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between the type of interaction of the client with specialists and the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process. The study involved 2,000 clients aged 18 and over who had the status of “disabled” and were undergoing rehabilitation at a comprehensive rehabilitation center for the disabled. All clients were divided into four groups according to the type of interaction with specialists in the rehabilitation process: adaptive, contradictory, conflictual and passive clients. The study revealed statistically significant correlations between the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process and the type of interaction with specialists, and as well as the individual characteristics of clients (the attitude to the disease, associations in relation to a specialist). It has been established that the primary diagnosis of the attitude to the disease, as well as the identification of the type of interaction with specialists at the beginning of rehabilitation, can be an indicator of the success or failure of rehabilitation.
