Abstract: The article is dedicated to a comprehensive study of the socio-political life in the Kazakh steppes at the be-ginning of the 19th century. The work thoroughly analyzes the social, political, economic, and cultural conse-quences following the dismantling of traditional Khanate authority by the Russian Empire. It provides a de-tailed differentiation of the causes and consequences of the removal of the Khanate authority of the Bukey Horde under Khan Jangir and his descendants, as well as the fate of the first Kazakh General-Adjutant Gubaydolla. His letters to the Emperor of the Russian Empire reveal the nature of the policy regarding inter-nal affairs in Kazakhstan. This research offers a deeper understanding of the political history of Kazakhstan in the 18th and 19th centuries and provides an objective assessment of the impact of Russian colonial policy on Kazakh society.
