Abstract: In the article the socio-political and historical activities of A.Zh. Mashanovwere characterized, his participa-tion in the historical and political processes wasindicated, the interdependence and interrelation of these pro-cesses wererevealed, attention wasfocused on the study of the life of the scientist as a historical figure and political subject, his contribution to historical science wasexplored, his performance as the driving force of the political process in the country, givedan idea of the types of historical and political figures.
