The present article is devoted to the phenomenon of the composer`s titles “joint text”. Three outstanding composers of the end of the XXth century — beginning of the 21st century became the heroes of the present research: Harrison Birtwistle, Kaia Saariaho and Tristan Murail. The “joint text” of composers` titles has the ability to show author`s range of interests and explain the choice of topics. Our research has demonstrated that Birtwistle possesses as a centre of his creative interests the mythic figure of Orpheus and the circumstances of his life and his environment. Saariaho is often motivated by the impressions from the literature. She is also fond of fantasy motives as well as exquisite paintings of different epochs. Tristan Muraill during his evolution moves from purely technical ideas to paysages and further to the imaginary landscapes and romantic literature images.
