Monitoring the frequency and risk factors of birth of children with congenital cleft lip and palate in the Volgograd region
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The results of a study of the frequency, prevalence, structure, and probable risk factors of congenital cleft lip and palate (CCLP) in the Volgograd region for 2010–2021 are presented. There were no dynamics of increase or decrease in the birth rate of children with congenital cleft lip and palate. Over the past decade, the birth rate of children with CCHD varied from (1.25 ± 0.35) to (1.72 ± 0.41) per 1000 live births. Risk factors for the formation of CCLP in the form of an infectious disease suffered by the mother in the first trimester of pregnancy and taking drugs have been confirmed.
