Actitudes de transinclusión en instituciones de educación superior en Sonora: resultados preliminares

Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Objective: Analyzing the inclusion attitudes towards trans people in higher education institutions of Hermosillo, Sonora. Methodology: Quantitative approach using the scale of attitudes towards trans people with non-probabilistic sampling in three higher education institutions. Results: Public higher education institutions’ university community report greater trans inclusion in their responses than those of private higher education institutions. It is observed that non-binary people, gender non-conforming, and women are the ones who have higher ratings in the attitude scale. The humanities studies community, students and LGBTIQ+ populations report more inclusive attitudes. Limitations: Due to the non-probabilistic sample used for the study, data is not representative, but an approximation about the region of study. Value: Empirical contribution to the knowledge of cissexism and the social inclusion of trans people. Conclusions: Trans-inclusion is not reduced to being LGBTIQ+, decolonial feminism, or left-wing positions, but rather requires a series of practices that articulate a legitimate inclusion of the trans-population.
