Calculation of the Electric Field at the Boundary of the Fiber Cladding With and Without Taking Into Account the Core

Abstract: The results of mode calculation and simulation of longitudinal and transverse components, including fields at the boundaries of optical fiber, are presented. The difference between the electric field components of optical fibers with and without a core is shown. The importance of the longitudinal field component for high-order modes is demonstrated.
