Abstract: Thanks to the historical processes of Christianity, the scandals, the lack of coherence, and the new leadership paradigms of authority has become blurred. Because of this, questions about the authority concept in the Church have emerged. For this reason, it is necessary to consider: How to rethink the Church’s authority and its exercise according to current problems? Owing, Simeon the New Theologian is used to rethinking the Church’s authority from his theology of the experience of God. Therefore, expose the main topics of his life and Theology. Then, present the relationship between authority and his theology. After that, propose some reflection on authority for the church today. Finally, the conclusion.
