Challenges and Facility Management of Aging Condominiums Under the Incorporated Management Association in the Kinki Region
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Compared to condominiums in general management associations, condominiums in management corporations were older and larger, and were more actively managed. The percentage of elderly residents (r=0.48, 95%CI: 0.26 - 0.65, cov=0.84, p<.0001), the percentage of rental units (r=0.41, 95%CI: 0.19 - 0.59, cov=0.45, p<.001) and the percentage of vacant units (r=0.35, 95%CI: 0.13 - 0.54, cov= 0.16, p<.01) were all positively correlated with age. While there were no significant differences in property-specific conditions, significant differences were found in the percentage of rental units, percentage of vacant units, and number of facilities installed, suggesting a role of management for older condominiums.
