CPAP and inflammation: villain or good guy?
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: We would like to congratulate Peker and collaborators for opening the discussion whether obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) therapy with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) can cause endothelial inflammation. In their recent published study, patients treated with median CPAP levels >7 cm H2O exhibited higher angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) levels compared to those treated with lower pressures.1 Upon closer examination of the results, however, we believe that certain considerations need to be addressed.
