Abstract: Resource allocation in cloud computing is a critical issue due to the varying workloads and the complexity of the infrastructure. With the help of Swarm Intelligence, a set of algorithms that are inspired by natural phenomena like bird flocking and ant foraging, can be used to improve the efficiency of the system. The research explores the various mechanisms of resource allocation that are based on swarm intelligence in cloud computing. The study also covers the various trends and directions that will affect the development of swarm intelligence in the future.
