Abstract: The term somnometabolic syndrome has been used todescribe a condition where obstructive sleep apnoeacoexists with one or more components of metabolicsyndrome. We propose a wider definition, stating thatsomnometabolic syndrome refers to the multifaceted,bidirectional relationship between sleep and metabolichealth, including vascular health.
