Abstract: BACKGROUND: Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS) is a rare disorder, often characterized by delayed growth and development, short stature, and hypogonadism as the main clinical manifestations. It is not clear whether PSIS can lead to liver cirrhosis. CASE SUMMARY: This paper reported a case of liver cirrhosis of unknown origin. The patient was admitted to Beijing Ditan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University in November 2023. The diagnosis of PSIS complicated with liver cirrhosis was established after a series of blood tests and pituitary magnetic resonance imaging examination. CONCLUSION: We also reviewed the literature from both domestic and international sources to deepen the clinical understanding of PSIS in conjunction with liver cirrhosis among medical practitioners.
