Abstract: Flatbush diabetes is a significant clinical condition that is gaining recognition on a global scale. Although it's commonly believed that individuals who exhibit symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) have type 1 diabetes and need to take insulin continuously for the rest of their lives, this isn't always the case. Understanding the differences between the natural histories of type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and Flatbush diabetes will aid in early diagnosis and appropriate management. We present a very unusual case of Flatbush diabetes in a young male who presents with recurrent episodes of DKA during febrile illness. Only a few such cases have been documented in the medical literature, despite recent advancements in diabetes research.
