Abstract: The efficiency of acceleration of charged particles during cyclotron resonances and acceleration of particles in a vacuum without an external magnetic field are considered. It is shown that the statement formulated in Lawson-Woodward theorem that relativistic particles do not exchange energy with an external electromagnetic wave in a vacuum is not sufficiently justified.
