Abstract: The paper argues the need to review the use of technical words in professional, secondary and university education, whose signs are loaded with historical weight and the instrumental sense of domination and control over Nature and the Human Being. The author uses the case of the word “resource” as a key to understanding how imaginaries are constructed and professional actions of exploitation and degradation are carried out based on expressions “natural resources” and “human resources” used technically and, in the end, proposes its replacement by a new word, whose meaning aligns with the sense of protagonism, agreement, agent or agency, more favorable to the new imaginary in dealing with Nature and Humanity.
