Abstract: Aneurysms are abnormal dilations that occur in the walls of blood vessels or the heart, originating from genetic or acquired factors. This study aims to investigate the condition of aneurysms in mammals, contributing to the understanding and dissemination of relevant information in veterinary medicine. The methodology employed consisted of a literature review that encompassed scientific articles, books, and specialized publications on the topic. The results obtained demonstrated the need for further studies on the epidemiology and incidence of aneurysms in mammals. Aneurysms are classified into saccular and fusiform types, true and false, with distinct implications in terms of treatment and prognosis. Diagnosis is often performed through imaging exams that allow for the morphological evaluation of aneurysms and contribute to the development of treatment strategies. This work aims to serve as a scientific dissemination tool and to expand knowledge about the condition of aneurysms in mammals, highlighting their relevance in veterinary medicine.
