The Activity of Pegagan Embun Extract (Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam.) in Capsule Form to SGPT and SGOT Levels in Humans

Abstract: Previous studies have also been conducted related to acute and sub-acute toxicity tests of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam.extract, where the results obtained from the doses given, namely 7, 35, and 150 mg/kg BW to test animals, did not show damage to the histology of the liver and kidneys of male white mice 11 .It also showed that the lethal dose (LD 50 ) value for ethanol extract of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam.amounted to 128.83 g/kg BW.From the LD 50 category, the ethanol extract of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam.belongs to the practically non-toxic range (LD 50 >15,000 mg/kg BW).Moreover, in previous studies, creatinine clearance and SGOT and SGPT levels after administration of Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides Lam.extract to test animals also had no toxic effects [12][13] .
