Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Statement of the problem. The features of the physical and chemical interaction of waste from the production of granular expanded zeolite obtained on the basis of natural zeolite with cement binder in order to obtain a composite binder for energy-efficient and waste-free technology of concrete production are investigated. The study is caused by interest in the issue of phase transformations and changes in the physicochemical properties of the initial natural zeolite in the production of granular expanded zeolite and the peculiarities of their influence on the processes of structure formation of cement composites, which has not been previously considered. Results. The paper investigates the raw materials produced by the enterprise for the extraction and enrichment of natural zeolite, substandard grains (bream and split grains) were used as a waste product of the production of granular foam zeolite. It is established that when natural zeolite passes the technological cycle for the production of granular foam-ceolite, amorphization and consolidation of the mineral components of natural zeolite occurs, characterized in its initial state by a variety of morphostructures and polyminerality. The studied waste from the production of granular foam ceolite is also characterized by a higher hardness, which leads to an increase in the duration of grinding, compared with «soft» natural zeolite. Conclusions. It is shown that natural zeolite and waste from the production of granular foam ceolite are characterized by a large amount of absorbed CaO, which positively correlates with the strength of the binders obtained on their basis and the quality coefficient as a component of the composite binder.
