Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study examines the working conditions of administrative technicians in a public higher education institution, focusing on the practice of teleworking during the pandemic period.Using a qualiquantitative analysis approach, data was collected through a selfadministered questionnaire to understand employees' experience with teleworking, its challenges and perceived benefits. This questionnaire was applied on the three UFPE campuses.Four hypotheses were formulated and tested with data obtained. On the understanding that work must suit people and not the other way around, this paper seeks to support public sector leaders in managing people and organizing work more efficiently. The results reveal valuable insights into the perceptions of administrative technicians in relation to teleworking, highlighting that there are strong motivating reasons to continue telecommuting in the institution, but some improvements must be made in working conditions.
