Analysis of spectral characteristics of fluorine containing vanadium(III) β-diketonates

Abstract: Vanadium tris-trifluoroacetylacetonate and tris-pivaloyltrifluoroacetonate were obtained by electrochemical synthesis. Based on the analysis of the spectral characteristics in the IR range of the synthesized chelates, it was established that during electrolysis a quasi-aromatic metallocycle was formed that is the basic structural element of the complexes. The peripheral groups of ligands (tert-butyl and trifluoromethyl) remained unchanged when exposed to electric current.
