Effects of Physical and Psychological Stress on Cognitive Performance in Czech Army Students
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: We present preliminary findings and partial analyses concerning the cognitive abilities and coping mechanisms of military students engaged in simulated combat scenarios. The Short Neuropsychological Battery (KNB) was used to measure cognitive abilities, the Coping Strategies Questionnaire (SVF-78) was used to assess stress coping strategies. Our initial data suggest that cognitive performance varies among individual students, although certain patterns emerge. Significant statistical variances were detected between pre-test and post-test assessments across cognitive domains, including attention, language, visuo-spatial aptitude, and executive functions.
