Abstract: The Marinids paid great attention to mosques, considering their upkeep a pillar of the faith. From this perspective, the Marinids focused on improving the infrastructure of mosques and providing them with everything necessary to fulfill their role perfectly. They built new mosques and encouraged people to attend congregational prayers in these mosques. This was particularly evident in the city of Fez, which they made the capital of their state, restoring its cultural glory as it was during the Idrisid rule. The mosques in Fez appeared as major institutions with specific systems and functions. The Marinids established a comprehensive administrative system for managing mosques, with each mosque having a group of employees responsible for various affairs. There were positions dedicated to religious rituals, administrative roles for financial management, cleanliness, lighting, and other functions, as well as academic roles. Each type of role had employees who performed its tasks. This research highlights the employees responsible for religious rituals in the mosques of Fez from the Marinid takeover in 646 AH / 1248 CE until the fall of the Marinid state in 869 AH / 1465 CE.These employees included the imam, the preacher, the muezzin, and the timekeeper. The study also emphasizes their political, administrative, social, and academic roles during the Marinid era.key words: Employees,
