Abstract: This paper discusses the importance of declarative, factual, and conceptual knowledge in the development of scientific thinking and the professional training of educators. Declarative knowledge provides the theoretical and conceptual foundation, factual knowledge adds specific data for argumentation, and conceptual knowledge facilitates understanding the complex interconnections between concepts and theories. These types of knowledge are essential for harnessing scientific thinking in addressing various personal, professional, and social problems. The article presents the results of a study conducted on a sample of 288 educators, from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, evaluating the development of scientific thinking that can be facilitated through the assimilation of declarative, factual, and conceptual knowledge, as well as through their practice using pedagogical strategies developed from the perspective of cognitive neuroscience.
