Abstract: • The proportion of lung transplant recipients >65 has increased substantially in recent years. • No guidelines currently exist to guide immunosuppression management in this patient group. • The first national survey of immunosuppressive strategies in elderly lung transplant recipients was conducted with results summarized here. • There is an urgent need for more research focused on clinical outcomes in the elderly transplant population. The proportion of elderly lung transplant recipients has increased substantially in recent years. The immunosuppressants required significantly increase the risk for infection and malignancy in the elderly population. However, there is a paucity of data on immunosuppression management practices in this group. Herein, we report results of the first national aggregation of immunosuppressant strategies in elderly lung transplant recipients within the US.
