Percutaneous repair of aortic coarctation: Bridging the gap to surgical repair
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: A 39-year-old man with a history of bicuspid aortic valve and limited medical follow up presented with cardiogenic shock. He was discovered to have aortic coarctation, for which he underwent percutaneous endovascular intervention to optimize hemodynamics and lower surgical risk prior to aortic valve and aortic arch replacement. This case highlights the role of a heart team approach when managing critically ill patients with bicuspid aortic valve disease and associated aortopathies.
