Using an Interleaved Buck Converter for Battery-Pack Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy
Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: An interleaved buck converter is used to generate the currents needed to perform Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy on a medium-size battery pack. The requirements and selected topology are described together with the choice of control method and its implementation. Results of simulation experiments are shown and compared to the results obtained using the hardware set-up. The results show that the converter is suitable for its purpose, generating the desired signals with adequate quality. An example of the measured battery impedance trajectory is included.
