A randomized trial of immune checkpoint inhibitor plasma proteomic biomarker and chemotherapy risk model in advanced non-small cell lung cancer
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) that target PD-(L)1 have significantly improved outcomes in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, disease recurrence remains common, underscoring the limitation of current FDA-approved biomarkers, PD-L1 and tumor mutational burden. To improve prediction of benefit from ICIs, PROphet, a novel plasma proteomic biomarker was developed. In a blinded validation cohort of patients with advanced NSCLC, the predicted versus observed benefit rate with PROphet was R2=0.98.
