Abstract: Since cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, research into cancer treatments is currently representing a top priority. Researchers from all over the world are looking for an effective treatment that will specifically target cancer while causing minimal morbidity. Nanotechnology can improve the potency and selectivity of biological, chemical, and physical methods for inducing the death of cancer cells while lowering collateral damage to non-cancerous cells. Many nanoparticle delivery systems as inorganic and organic materials have been used in the development of cancer therapy. In this review, the function of nanoparticles in cancer therapy among various cancer drug delivery techniques will be discussed as well as how it works to overcome cancer drug resistance. We provide an up-to-date discussion of the recent progress that has been made in the use of nanotechnology in cancer therapy.
