Abstract: Improving Solubility of Ketoprofen In Microparticle Form By Emulsification-Ionic-Gelation Method Using Polyvinylprrolidone (PVP) And Tripolyphosphate (TPP) Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has low solubility in water, thus inhibiting drug absorption into the body. This study aims to increase the solubility of ketoprofen using emulsification-ionic-gelation method with PVP as polymer and TPP as crosslinker. Microparticles were prepared using three formulas with variations in TPP pH (2, 4, and 6). Characterization was performed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and solubility test using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. SEM results showed a gradual decrease in particle size from pH 2, 4, and 6. Solubility tests showed a two-fold increase in solubility compared to untreated ketoprofen, with the highest solubility at pH 6. The combination of PVP and TPP in the emulsification-ionic-gelation method effectively increased solubility.
