Abstract: Patient-centric supportive critical care represents clinical supportive care for patients with life-threatening illness. Coupled with rapid diagnostics and pathogen-specific treatment, it is an essential aspect of the case management pillar in outbreak response. The goal of critical care is to support organ function, manage complications of existing organ dysfunction, and prevent new organ dysfunction. This requires the right staff, stuff, systems, and space to provide the care that is needed.
