Abstract: . In politics, when folly prevails over reason, the foundations of the state are threatened and its institutions teeter under the will of personal inclination. Sophocles Antigone presents us with a number of case studies, full of lessons that should enable leaders to avoid becoming too buttress and to avoid any kind of overstiff pretention. Through its characters, this tragedy gives us the opportunity to study the political sickness of our states and, at the same time, to pin our hopes on the guarantee offered by the power of reason. In this article, we have highlighted two fanatical faces that are as different as they are similar. They share the same degree of fanaticism, passion, risk, disdain and loneliness.
