Abstract: High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide Metal halide perovskites are an excellent direct-bandgap semiconductor material that can possess high optical gain for laser and amplifier applications. Engineering light–matter interactions in perovskites by using a circular Bragg cavity holds great promise for high-performance on-chip photonic sources. Here, we report our development of an etchless fabrication method for perovskite active photonics with an experimental demonstration of circular Bragg lasers in quasi-2D Dion–Jacobson-phase perovskites. The demonstrated perovskite lasers exhibit excellent performance including a low lasing threshold of 8 μJ/cm 2 and a record-high quality factor of ∼1.2 × 10 4 . These laser devices have excellent stability due to the adoption of the Dion–Jacobson-phase perovskite and material-compatible fabrication processing. This work opens a new avenue to large-area, single-mode surface-emitting perovskite lasers and also provides a new platform for perovskite integrated photonics.
