Asperity interaction induced vibration excitation of cylindrical roller bearings with localized defect

Type: article
Abstract: One of the difficulties in detecting localized faults of cylindrical roller bearings by vibration analysis is the lack of obvious early fault characteristics. To carry out the relationship between internal faults and external vibration signals is meaningful from the perspective of diagnosis. The dynamic model of asperity interaction in cylindrical roller bearings is established in this paper. The vibration excitation caused by microscopic particle impact is derived. The effects of surface roughness and radial load on vibration excitation are investigated. It is found that the impact energy caused by asperity interaction behavior can excite the vibration excitation of the bearing.
