Abstract: . Land history in Senegal, as elsewhere in the world, is not immune to issues which are at the origin of numerous conflicts. The 1964 reform, which marks a break with the colonial era, certainly made it possible to initiate a series of often diverse and variable regulations capable of securing the different national land tenure systems, but it was not spared from multiple embarrassments. If the Senegalese government succeeds in maintaining the regime of national, public property and that of registration, it is clear that the end of socialism gives rise to the acceleration of speculation and the proliferation of disputes. Indeed, the triumph of capitalism from 2000 will lead to a rush of investors towards the real estate sector and the excessive exploitation of agricultural land. Consequently, not only is the heritage of rurality fading, but it is accompanied by a progressive disappearance of the traditional regime which suffers over the years, the perpetuity of a land right inherited from colonialism.
