Abstract: A student began attending Butler University, forming a close‐knit group of friends who frequently met in “Room 113” of a residence hall to spend time together. Shortly thereafter, he came out as gay to the group without incident. However, tension arose as some of his friends, particularly the residents of Room 113, felt he overstayed his visits. The next semester, he moved into a room across the hall, coinciding with his new romantic relationship.
