Abstract: In social science research, the number of measurement scales is crucial since it might impact the validity and reliability of the results. The purpose of this study was to determine how many measuring scales yielded the best findings in terms of reliability and validity. Three-, five-, seven- and 10-point scales were used to examine the learning behavior of 131 higher education students in this study. The findings indicate that, in comparison to the other three scales, the use of a seven-point scale offers the maximum level of measurement validity and reliability. Consequently, to increase the accuracy of findings, social scientists are advised to employ a seven-point rating, particularly for those studying human behavior.
