Abstract: A model of the structure of thermally modified shungite carbon is proposed, which can be used as a container for the production and long-term retention of nanosized particles. Such nanoparticles are characterized by their inherent photoluminescent activity. Since nano-sized carbon particles do not enter into chemical interaction with the shungite matrix under normal conditions, their luminescent properties are maintained for a long time. The description of the multilevel structure of shungite carbon by the model of randomly oriented agglomerations of turbostratic stacks of graphene sheets is confirmed by X-ray data.
