Pedagogical Aspects of V. Frankl's Paradoxical Intention: a Method for Relieving the Fear of Failure
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The novelty of pedagogical research consists in the identification and concretization of pedagogical techniques for relieving fear, identified based on the analysis of one of Victor Frankl's logotherapy techniques – paradoxical intention. For pedagogy, paradoxical intention is of particular scientific interest as a technique that contains a set of techniques for overcoming fear. Among them: the possibility of choice; irony; distancing; dialogue and grotesque. Paradoxical intention is considered by us not as a hidden psychological mechanism, but as a pedagogical technique that allows a person to regulate his emotional state, thinking and behavior. The use of the technique in the long term turns the above-mentioned techniques in to ways of self-help for the individual.
