Abstract: This article is a reflective work that links sociolinguistic analysis with the pedagogical treatment of voseo as a dialectal variable. It not only analyzes the diachrony of the system, but also the current uses that are recognized in young speakers and in the mass media, as bridges of communicative exchange and idiosyncrasy of the communities of speakers. In this sense, we analyze how this dialectal variety, which does not enjoy prestige or formal recognition, is in fact a validated form by the grammatical norm and in widespread use; consequently, understanding its nature is also understanding the expressive richness of the language. Therefore, a crossover is made between the transversality of the use of the second person system (voseo) and the way in which communicative diversity is recognized in the subject of Language and Literature in Secondary Education, in order to strengthen the linguistic awareness of students as social subjects.
