Clinical impact of DPYD genotyping and dose adjustment in candidates for fluoropyrimidine treatment
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Fluoropyrimidines (5-fluorouracil, capecitabine, and tegafur) are widely used in the treatment of different malignant tumors, including cancer of the stomach, bowel, pancreas, esophagus, and breast; and squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck [1–6]. More than two million people per year are diagnosed with cancers that are treated with fluoropyrimidines, usually in combination with other antineoplastic agents [1–4,7].
